Endometriosis is a challenging condition affecting 10% of women worldwide and 30% of women attending fertility clinics. Studies confirm it takes up to 8 years to make a diagnosis in the UK. During this long period of uncertainty, irreparable damage can occur to a woman’s fertility, her relationships and her professional development.

Endometriosis symptoms include heavy and painful periods, abdominal pain, painful sex, nausea and vomiting, diarrhoea, sometimes with the passage of blood. The symptoms are often cyclical, being worse at the time of the menstrual period but can be constant. Symptoms are often out of proportion to the extent of the disease

How long does the test take?

The test takes 30 minutes to complete, but there is a little patient preparation before and after. We offer 45 minute appointment slots.

Is the test painful?

There is no pain with the EndoSure test other than the discomfort of drinking a large volume water.

How do I prepare for the test?

You should fast for 6-8 hours prior to your test.
When you arrive you will be asked to drink as much water as you can manage comfortably.
You will then sit in a reclining. chair for 30 minutes during which time 3 electrodes will be placed on your abdomen above the umbilicus or belly button.

When will I get the results?

The results will be available the same day. We will send you a copy of the report electronically and share with the doctor who referred you if applicable.

How accurate is the test?

Published data* has demonstrated that the EndoSure Test can support an accurate diagnosis of endometriosis 98-99% of the time (as confirmed by surgical findings):
All 90 women with endometriosis were correctly identified by the test as having the disease. There were no false negatives.
All 64 women without endometriosis were correctly identified as not having the disease. There were no false positives.
